Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Gerion’s drumming carries the weight of tradition that hits with a contemporary force. Shaped by T&T’s steel orchestra culture and forged on soca stages, his drumming is direct, physical and locked into the heartbeat of Carnival.

A multiple-time Panorama champion (4 back-to-back wins – 2016 to 2019) with Pan Elders Steel Orchestra under arranger Duvone Stewart, Gerion has earned a reputation for endurance, precision and leadership in one of the Caribbean’s most demanding performance arenas. His command of tempo and ensemble dynamics has made him a go-to drummer for top steel orchestras and leading soca acts alike. In the studio and on stage, he’s worked with top Caribbean artists such as Voice, Bunji Garlin, Machel Montano, Shurwayne Winchester and Maxi Priest.

Gerion’s influence extends beyond the islands. Known for his power, aggressive phrasing and energy, he has brought the complexity of Caribbean rhythm to global audiences. One of his most notable milestones was performing at Carnegie Hall with SO Percussion and Dr. Kendall K. Williams. He also continues to share his expertise internationally through clinics, performances, and cultural exchanges, including the Caribbean Soca Music Clinic at the University of Michigan.

Offstage, Gerion has been committed to building community. His drum-shed sessions evolved into a network called ‘Drummerville’ where drummers trade techniques, discuss gear, and support each other’s growth.

Gerion’s playing brings steel orchestra and soca grooves to the forefront whenever he’s behind the kit.
